Description: The Salvia ‘Blue Hills’, Salvia nemorosa ‘Blauhugel’, has glowing purple stems loaded with true blue flowers that bloom from June to October. With its gray-green aromatic foliage, it makes an attractive accent all summer long. ‘Blue Hills’ has a plant height of 15” and a spread of 18-24” and stays in excellent compact form. Salvia ‘Blue Hills’ should be planted in full sun in a moist well-drained area. |

Description: Scaevola Blue is an annual in many locations. It is only Winter hardy to 32 degrees. But what a show and a color that is very blue with just a hint of violet. Scaevola Blue Wonder is a prolific bloomer from early Spring through to frost. New blooms can be encouraged by trimming off the long tendrils. This Fairy Fan Flower cultivar is an excellent hanging basket plant if it gets regular water. As a ground cover plant reasonable drainage is required. Heat is a plus as long as the plants are irrigated enough, though several root rot problems crop up if there is too much water. There is still some controversy over patents and synonyms, but from a gardener's perspective, Scaevola Blue Wonder by what ever name is an excellent plant.

Description: 'Snowcap' a prolific flowerer that produces single, 4 inch wide flowers. Often sold as Chrysanthemum maxiumum. A clump-forming perennial. Fleshy leaves are toothed and a glossy dark green. Flower stalks are 2 to 4 feet tall making these splendid in borders. Shasta Daisies make excellent cut flowers, as they are long lasting ( most Chrysanthemums are). |
