Coreopsis early Sunrise

Description: A definite superstar among yellow flowers. Yellow flowers flush to orange-yellow near the center and bloom June through October. Dark green thread leaf foliage makes a great contrast with the flower color. Drought tolerant and tought but do need well-drained soil. Should be cut back early and late summer to extend the bloom period.

Description: After eight years of intensive breeding work with eight species of coreopsis, Darrell Probst is releasing the first plant in his Big Bang (TM) Series. 'Full Moon' is a showy hybrid with very large, canary yellow flowers that measure up to three inches across. They are held on well-branched stems atop a mound of healthy green, medium textured foliage. The plants are long blooming, from about midsummer into early fall. This is one of the taller kinds of coreopsis, so it is best situated towards the middle of the flower border.

Description: Deadheading isn't necessary but cleaning off spent blooms won't harm it. Late Spring to Summer Finish. Standard ppp. General pest and disease practices as listed in notes. Watch for aphids, whiteflies, and thrips. A preventative drench with a systemic pesticide is recommended to control aphids. Avoid over watering especially early in the crop cycle. Plants can be run a little dry but should not be dried to the point of wilt. Wilting will cause leaf burn. Under low light and high humidity conditions oedema can be problematic.
