Strawberries

EVER BEARING
AROMAS – Exceptional fruit quality with a very good flavor. Stays firm for a long time. Good for eating fresh or for processing. Good resistance to disease.

EVERSWEET – Amazingly productive, bearing fruit all summer. Exceptionally sweet and large fruit. Great dessert berry and good for jams as well.

SEASCAPE – Highly tolerant of virus diseases common in California. Fruit is symmetrically medium to long conical and firm. High flavor, high yield and large sized fruit.
TRI-STAR – Produces heavy very early spring crop of small to medium, short conical fruit. Good resistance to disease. Unusual in that the fall crop is the heaviest.

WEST COAST SPRING BEARING
CHANDLER
– Fruit is long and conical to long and flat wedged. Glossy and very firm skin with very firm flesh. Good dessert and freezing quality. Good fresh market berry that ripens early.

HOOD – Large, round berry is considered to have the best table quality. Known best as a fine jam and preserve berry, but is wonderful for all other uses. Good disease resistance.

SEQUOIA – Very large, dark red berries with real good flavor. Can be used for dessert and freezing. Behaves like an ever bearing variety here in California.


Blueberries

Almaden Valley Nursery offers one of the largest selection of blueberries in the Bay Area. We select only varieties which perform well in our particular climate. These varieties produce nice yields, have wonderful flavor, and offer good disease resistance with a minimum of care. BLUECROP -
Considered the best all around garden variety for consistent yields, and large, high quality fruit. Ripens mid-summer. Upright open growing bush 4-6 ft.

BERKELY -
This variety boasts a very attractive powder blue fruit with a pleasing mild flavor. Grows 5-6 ft. high and wide when mature. Ripens in mid-summer.

CHANDLER -
Bigger can be better with fruit the size of cherries and a surprisingly delicious flavor. Long ripening season (6 weeks) during mid-summer. Grows 5-6 ft.

EARLIBLUE -
The first blueberry to ripen with large, light blue, delicious sweet flavored berries. The green foliage grows on bright red wood. Ripens early June. Grows 4-5 ft.

JUBILEE -
An upright, compact bush that comes with bountiful crops of easy-picking, tasty, medium-sized sky blue berries. Excellent for compact soils. Grows 3-4 ft.

LEGACY -
Medium to large, light blue berries with robust flavor. Keeps its foliage during winter with some fall colored hues. Vigorous and upright to 6ft. mid-summer.

MISTY -
Bright blue-green foliage contrasts well with hot pink spring flowers and the excellent tasting, medium-sized sky blue berries. Evergreen.

ONEAL -
One of the earliest ripening plants with large, light blue fruit of terrific quality. Attractive grey-green summer foliage spreads up to 5 ft. Ripens in early June.

SHARPBLUE -
Vigorous evergreen 5-6 ft. bush that blooms and fruits almost year-round with dark blue, dime-sized berries with excellent flavor and texture.

SUNSHINE BLUE -
3 ft. evergreen blueberry with showy hot pink spring flowers yielding large crops of dime-sized, delicious berries with a unique tangy flavor up to 9 weeks.

TOP HAT -
Dwarf variety, 1.5-2 ft. around. White flowers start blooming in May followed by firm, sweet, bright light blueberries. Bush fully mature in 3-4 years, yielding between 2-5 pounds of fruit a season.


Raspberries

All of our raspberry varieties have been selected because they are thronless, produce extended crops and are unique in shape or flavor. All will produce and perform well in our climate. We recommend planting more than one variety for better crosspollinization and larger crops.

HERITAGE EVERBEARING -
Large, sweet dark red berry with a mild, pleasing flavor. Superior quality berry is good fresh, for freezing, and preserves. Moderate summer crop, heavier fall crop.

WILLAMETTE -
An extremely large berry, nearly round, dark red, very firm with rich, slightly tart flavor. Excellent eaten fresh, for freezing or canning. Ripens in early summer.
