Park Greenhouse originally began as Orchard Park Nursery in 1955, as a retail garden center. Floyd Cover was the owner and continued to operate until 1979. A florist shop was opened in 1962 and was managed by Glenna Cover, Floyd’s wife. The business continued to add side businesse, such as selling bare-root trees to local farmers who were planting orchards of almonds and walnuts. In 1974 a wholesale houseplant business was started on a small scale (as the retail nursery slowly declined and actually closed for a period of time), and continued to expand as the market allowed. The best years in the 1970's and 80's were a result of the "houseplant boom". In the 90’s to the present, Park Greenhouse has developed a product mix to accommodate the current needs and trends. The retail business began in 2000 to sell excess blooming plants on the roadside to local residents and has grown very well since that time. Park Greenhouse strives to sell to its customers, both Retail and Wholesale, the best flowers and plants possible.
